Merry Christmas

December 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

It’s been a fun year online. There have so many incredible memories from this year and many of those memories online laughing at friends blog post (who can forget the Deer Whisperer posts and the Snake Charmer over at Larry’s blog) and learning a lot from the wisdom others have to share. Blogging, facebooking and twittering, has been fun this year. It’s been incredible staying in touch with friends and learning a whole lot from so many incredible people. Have a great Christmas!

I’m ruined

July 17, 2008 · 3 Comments

I’m gutted, wiped out, torn up… ruined. The Holy Spirit has used Craig Groeschel and Steven Furtick to challenge me and put his finger on some areas of my life and leadership. I can’t tell you what an honor it is to be around people like this, and here them boast of their failures and weaknesses. To realize that just like you and me they are ordinary people who have paid the price, counted the cost and said that for all the pain it’s worth it. It’s worth it to lay down you life for the King. It’s worth it. I’ve been so challenged over the past 24 hours and now the work of implimenting and executing in my own life begins. It was also an incredible honor to spend some time with Josh Brower, Buddy Cremeans and his wife, Ryan Hollingsworth and of course my good friend Larry Hubatka… I admit I teared up a little when I began to think about the journey that God has taken Larry and Kelly on. I’m so very proud of them – they are an incredible encouragement, perhaps more than they will ever know!

All right, it’s be crazy!

April 9, 2008 · 1 Comment

Post have been a little sporadic lately. Been crazy with the women’s conference coming up and speaking a few times on top of all the usual and normal stuff going on. Lots of late nights and early mornings. It’s spring break next week and I’m looking forward to trying to take a day or two off and hang with my kids. Bronx Zoo and a Mets game look like they’re on the cards.

Road Games

March 12, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’ve come to dislike two things here in New York (I use the term dislike which is a little too mild, but we don’t use the hate word in our house except when referencing the devil or sin). Anyhow the two things I’ve come to dislike: salt and the roads. People in Oregon complained about the rain, at least they never had to deal with a potent mixture of snow, rain and salt that rusts everything. And I mean everything, including plastic… yeah its that bad.

Anyhow my second pet peeve is the condition of the roads. It’s not about avoiding potholes, its about trying to decide which one is going to have the least impact on your car (it’s really help my reflexes and Brain Tease score on Aidan’s DS). It’s so bad that parents in New York don’t let there kids ride bikes outside the garage for fear of losing their precious ones in a pothole. “Have you seen the kids honey?” “They were outside playing…” “NOOOOO!” [everything shifts into dramatic slow motion]. Running outside we find a new pothole the size of the Grand Canyon, rushing to the edge of the pothole we look down and see our kids trapped at the bottom. Potholes. Every New York family’s worst nightmare. Okay so it’s not that bad, but trust me it is bad. There’s a half mile stretch of four lane road close to my kids’ school that honestly has more potholes than road. I actually think they’re opening a front end alignment shop at the end of the stretch. So what potholes are you working to avoid in your life right now?

Okay I’m freakin’ excited…

headshot.jpgThe Generation Conference is coming together – Craig Groeschel is coming and now it appears that Steven Furtick is joining the madness. Steven Furtick pastor’s one of the fastest growing churches in the country – Elevation Church – started two years ago with eight families they just had 4000 this weekend – hundreds of people getting saved at a time. Love reading his blog and love the raw faith of this guy. He pulls no punches, says it right like it is – man I hear myself getting southern just talking about him. This is going to be fun I get to meet another couple of faith heroes… and hopefully my good friend Larry Hubatka is coming too!!!

Almost the New Year…

December 30, 2007 · Leave a Comment

So I hope you had a great Christmas, I was able to spend some good down time with the fam. Now it’s almost the new year. Not sure about you, but I tend to get a little reflective – looking back and forward all at the same time… Anyhow I thought I’d pass along an online tool that may prove to be helpful as you set some goals and objectives for the new year. Check out Limeade.
