Almost the New Year…
December 30, 2007 · Leave a Comment
So I hope you had a great Christmas, I was able to spend some good down time with the fam. Now it’s almost the new year. Not sure about you, but I tend to get a little reflective – looking back and forward all at the same time… Anyhow I thought I’d pass along an online tool that may prove to be helpful as you set some goals and objectives for the new year. Check out Limeade.

Two packed experiences at Cornerstone this weekend! Incredible worship (great version of Angels We Have Heard On High), s fantastic dance by some of the KUC Kids to Glory to God, and I think the preschool kids stole the show with their two songs… The most incredible things was the 6 people who crossed the line of faith for the first time or recommitted their life to Christ this morning. Two incredible services and whole lot of peoples’ lives touched! I want to thank everyone who was involved in creating an environment this weekend where people could connect with God. It’s been an great year and 2008 is going to be even better! Keep pressing in C-stoners!

I’ve dreamed of being a fly on the wall when this team gets together… now I can be. I really admire Elevation Church and their commitment to reach the people of Charlotte… A number of months ago Pastor Steven did a best practices post… now along with my good friend Larry Hubatka and others they’re giving is a fly on the wall experience with their team – check it out.

I can feel myself winding down…

Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing… my folks just arrived for Christmas and I had kind of promised myself that I’m not going to keep up the crazy pace I’ve been running at over the past couple of months. I couldn’t be happier with all the stuff that’s taken place over the past 6 months of my life – moving, my family’s done well, I’m part of a great team with Pastor Mike Servello and a great team down in Albany. There have been some incredible stories of transformation and people crossing the line of faith, healing and community being built. As a church family we’re committing to becoming a church for everyone, not just church people, we’ve reached out and touched many lives. We got the website up and we seem to be doing a better job at communication (as a former communication guy that makes my heart happy). I’ve also shoveled an estimated 1200 cubic feet of snow over the past four days – my wrists, forearms and back are burning (it hurts to type right now).
What can I say it’s been a good year for the Gilpin clan… and I’m winding down. That means for the next couple of weeks I’m going to relax my two index fingers and not be typing as much… maybe a couple of posts a week. I’ve got some stuff I’m working on for the new year – so stay posted as I mull some thoughts over through the Christmas season… of course there’s always the impulse video, picture and comment to keep it light-hearted.

Snizzle

(This post might only be funny to non native new yorkers) Okay, so we’re watching the weather on the local wten this morning tracking the “winter storm” and Chris Gloninger, the young, preppy weekend meteorologist breaks into some snoop dog, “We’re expecting snizzle…” SNIZZLE! What in God’s green earth (or white washed planet) is snizzle? We later learned that snizzle is a combination of snow, ice and drizzle… snizzle! Duh! of course it is. So Snizzle my minizzle! with your best snoop dog actions! Peace out cracker!
This is how my six year old daughter rolls in the winter storm… not sure if she’s working on a tan?
