As I thought it might be…

November 30, 2007 · 6 Comments

No Farve. No KGB. No Woodson. And their feet got tangled, it wasn’t interference. Two bad calls that lead to 14 points for Dallas (and that’s according to the NFL network). Nice play from Aaron Rodgers and the youngest team in the NFL… couple of stupid penalties from some young players.

Technology is pretty amazing at one point tonight I was watching the game online, following game tracker, instant messaging two people, email mailing someone and talking to a friend in North Carolina all from the comfort of my couch, all at once.

How things have changed…

November 28, 2007 · 2 Comments

A couple of years ago Jennie and I got hooked on 24. If you’re a fan you’ve probably been hearing some rumors that the next season of 24 may not be. I was sent this link to an unaired pilot for 24 from 1994… enjoy! It’s amazing how technology, Steve Jobs and the people over at Apple, have changed our lives…

Growth. Change. Maturity. Communication.

November 27, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been speaking a lot more over the past couple of months and spending time trying to develop that skill… As a leadership team we’ve bought into the idea that spiritual growth and maturity is all about how much we apply and do rather than how much we know. Knowledge kills if it isn’t applied. Jesus made it pretty clear in Matthew 22 that it was relational in nature – how well will I love God and love other people… with that in mind and doubling back to speaking I read a great quote from Kem Meyer that is something that I’ve tried to live out over the past couple of years. Kem does a great job of articulating the thought.

effective communications has less to do with sending the right message, and everything to do with releasing the right response.

If we truly believe that growth, maturity and change are about love and application in the context of relationships then as communicators we must take the time to make sure that in our speaking, writing, designing and developing we’re working on releasing the right response.

Back to the blogosphere

November 26, 2007 · Leave a Comment

So it’s been a busy couple of days but we were able to get some rest… had a great couple of weekend experiences at church yesterday with a couple of people crossing the line of faith… way cool. So many of you have emailed and txted about the Thanksgiving parade – below you’ll see some pictures. We can now say we’ve done the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade live and in person… with 3 million other people – ‘nough said. Pictures say it all. Enjoy.

I’m done… for a couple of days.

November 21, 2007 · 4 Comments

Drove down to NYC. Have to get up early tomorrow to take the kids to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Tivo the Packers Game. Eat turkey, stuffing and brussel sprouts. Watch the Packers. Enjoy some pumpkin pie. Pray that Dallas loses. Eat some more turkey. Feel sick. Sleep.  And finish the whole things off with a good cup of tea and a piece of pumpkin pie before going back to bed… As you can tell I’m going to be busy. So I’m going to take a couple of days off from the blogosphere. So to the tens of thousands in the worldwide audience reading the blog, okay all 12 of you, I’ll see you next week. If you’re part of C-Stone we’ll see you Sunday – I’ve got some fun stuff planned. Have a great Thanksgiving!
